Devon Dental Centre of Excellence, stuff Ashburton

Two grade 2* properties on three stories

Obtain planning permission and listed building consent for two separate grade 2*listed buildings, viagra buy for the construction of a large extension incorporating three new surgeries, centralised sterilisation room, conference room, new reception, staff offices and welfare facilities.

The project was particularly challenging as we were asked to keep the existing surgery running throughout the project, while having to move all materials and plant through the building, dealing with all the logistical and safety restrictions imposed by a busy practice.

Build a single storey extension in the rear courtyard of the practice consisting of two new surgeries, central sterilization room new reception, waiting room and external compressor store

Once the old buildings had been removed and disposed of the discovery of a stone built well was the start of an extremely interesting building project. Drilling out one entire granite corner of the buildings foundations hidden by a set of existing steps added to the challenge.

Surgery refurbishment following flood

We had been asked by the insurance company to get into the building as soon as possible to safeguard any further damage following the flooding of a downstairs surgery. Once we had completed this we provided Dr Sharma with a new plan for his surgery setting about getting him up and running as quickly as possible.

“I was extremely shocked to see the extent of the damage to my surgery, the ceilings where coming down, all the units had been damaged and the equipment had been effected beyond repair. Fortunately Trevor and his team came to the rescue providing an exceptional service while meeting all of their tight deadlines. It was imperative for me to appoint a company that was able to carry out all areas of the work and project manage it to a satisfactory conclusion so I could get my practice up and running again.”

Upgrade all three surgeries and install new central sterilisation room to comply with the new regulations. Including new cabinetry, worktops, flooring and equipment

The practice had not been upgraded for a considerable amount of time and all areas of each surgery needed complete upgrading including new flooring, damp proofing and plastering before starting on the good bits. The main difficulty was to remove all the existing parquet flooring which was lifting throughout the practice, keeping the practice running and making sure the bitumen used to stick the flooring down did not contaminate the new areas as they were brought back into service. All this and an extremely tight deadline made harder as it was the run up to Christmas and the hardest winter for years.

Trevor and the team were fantastic! Despite a massive workload and a strict timescale, we were able to keep the surgery running – and without a single complaint from patients or staff!
